The Chair for Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy was part of the ICE within the PRO PRICARE network.
Research areas:
- Emotion regulation
- Internet based therapy
- Development and evaluation of concepts to impart psychotherapeutic competences
- Support for patients with psychological issues
Psychological disorders are widespread and linked to severe harm for those affected. Therefore we want to provide a substantial contribution to a better understanding of these kind of disorders and develop effective measures for treatment.
In addition we are trying to find out about how we can prevent the development of psychological diseases before they occur. Also we are working in the field of effective access to preventive and therapeutic measures and we are carrying out research on how soon-to-be psychotherapists can be prepared for their future professional tasks.
Our chair is trying to reach these targets in close cooperation with colleagues from other faculties and scientific disciplines as well as therapeutic practitioners. Equally important is the frequent exchange with affected patients suffering from psychological disorders. By doing so we would like to guarantee that the specific needs of patients concerned will be taken into account in the development of new methods of intervention.
