DIAMANT
Thyroid DIagnostics in AMbulANT care
What is it all about?
Blood tests and ultrasound are frequently used to diagnose thyroid disorders. It is not uncommon for findings to be discovered that, although not indicative of disease, can nevertheless raise questions and uncertainties. To date, there has been a lack of uniform, structured approaches for thoroughly assessing the indication for diagnostic measures and communicating these in a comprehensible manner.
The project aims to improve diagnostic clarification in cases of suspected thyroid disorders and to develop practical support for GPs and patients.
How does the study work?
As part of the project, a diagnostic box containing materials for the diagnosis and management of thyroid disorders is being developed together with doctors and patients and the box will then be evaluated in GP care.
