Effects of GP referrals on care
Evaluation of the new regulations for GP referrals
What is it about?
On 01.01.2023, new regulations came into force regarding the provision of appointments by GPs and the resulting further treatment by specialist doctors. The background to this new regulation is to enable patients in acute cases to get an appointment with a GP more quickly. The aim of this project is to evaluate the implementation of this regulation and its impact on care. We are not only interested in the effects on patient care, but also on interdisciplinary cooperation.
How does the study work?
The research questions will be answered using a mixed-methods study design (quantitative, qualitative and routine data analysis). The perspectives of the participating groups of doctors will be obtained. For this purpose, two survey dates are planned for the quantitative and qualitative survey. The results of the first survey will be incorporated into the hypotheses of the routine data analysis. Open questions from the routine data analysis will then be answered in the second quantitative/qualitative survey.
